
David W. Lentz founded the firm with Chris Gengaro in 1994. He has practiced business and commercial litigation for businesses and individuals in state and federal courts and before arbitration panels. He also litigates before the chancery courts of the State of New Jersey seeking and defending injunction actions for individuals and businesses.
Mr. Lentz concentrates his practice in several substantive fields. In the litigation arena, he handles commercial cases including breach of contract, real estate matters, shareholder and corporate control disputes, physician break-ups and employer-employee disputes. He also is an experienced corporate lawyer versed in the full range of corporate legal issues, including the formation of corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships and various other entities, as well as the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements and partnership/shareholder agreements. Mr. Lentz also has extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, leases and refinancings. Mr. Lentz has advised and represented several start up companies from Israel.
Mr. Lentz has served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Model Civil Jury Charges. He has been selected to be a presenter on behalf of the Ethics Committee of the Essex County Bar Association and has been appointed to the editorial board of The Chronicle, the publication of the Essex County Bar Association. Mr. Lentz has been selected to serve as an arbitrator of various legal disputes in chancery and tort matters.
Mr. Lentz was selected by the United Jewish Federation for the Julius Cohn Outstanding Young Leadership Award. Since 1996, he has been appointed by successive New Jersey governors to the New Jersey Israel Commission, most recently by Gov. Christie. Mr. Lentz has served on the Executive Committee for the United Jewish Communities of Metrowest, New Jersey and recently served as chairperson of the Community Relations Committee.
